August June Bug

Across the path,
Square and stout.
June bug rumbles,
Green wings shout.

Among insects,
He looks a thug -
A big scary
Humvee bug.

    Wonderful about those bugs! We don't have them in Colorado, but when I grew up in Missouri we used to tie a thin string to one & walk around with it flying. We then released it! They are interesting, but not so fun in the house!

      Thanks, Linda! Wow, you were a brave child to tie a thin string around those bugs - I don't want to get that close, but it would be fun to have a "flying balloon" of sorts. I agree, they are especially not fun in the house. =)

      Thank you, Carrie! I try to stay away from them if I can, too. But they seem to be everywhere from April to October in the desert - not just June. =)
