is no rookie
when her kid asks
for a fresh cookie.
AC's overworked,
triple digit degrees.
Mom gets creative -
grabs her car keys.
Out to the driveway,
our four wheel oven.
Dashboard cookies -
oatmeal raisin lovin'!
On Monday, we baked cookies...in our car...on our driveway.
Kia dashboard delights! |
Mmm, delicious! |
Oh my...and I thought the SC heat was unbearable this week! I hope things cool down for you soon, Bridget! = )
ReplyDeleteThanks, Becky! August was actually mild (for the desert) and wet, but September is starting out hot! = )
DeleteDashboard cookies? Wow!
ReplyDeleteMy daughter was happy!
DeleteThe first stanza cracked me up, Bridget. What an inventive Mom!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Laura! Always trying to stay ahead of the game...and the heat. = )
DeleteYou learn something every day...dashboard cookies!
ReplyDeleteYep, Tara, a local news crew cooked breakfast on the sidewalk (on aluminum foil) and then ate it. = )
DeleteWow - now THAT is hot. And way to use it for something yummy! :0)
ReplyDeleteYep, Robyn, sometimes you've got turn a seemingly bitter situation into something sweet. = )
DeleteThat's almost a science experiment! Glad it worked -- so much better than heating up the house!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Tabatha! It took longer than the house oven, but it was a fun "experiment". = )
DeleteI had no idea it could be done, Bridget. What a great memory to capture. It's cold enough here to contemplate turing on the heat! Definitely weather changes in Colorado! Love that middle stanza!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Linda! Turn on the heat?!? Wow, that won't come until December...or maybe January in Tucson. I love hearing from all corners of the country on PF. = )
DeleteThe dashboard delight looks yum! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks, Myra! They were pretty good (and gooey) as you can see by my daughter's delighted grin. = )
DeleteThree cheers for desert Mama!
ReplyDeleteThanks, thanks, and thanks for Mary Lee!
DeleteArrgh! That is too much heat for me to even think about. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks, Karen! Luckily, it is not this hot all the time. We just seized the opportunity. = )
DeleteYou are seriously one creative Mama! As we used to say in NM... "but it's a dry heat." If your cookies need a steam bath, send them my way!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Michelle! Yes, we use that "dry heat" phrase often, but it doesn't fool anyone, hot is hot, except during monsoons, when hot is humid. = )
