Halloween Scene

Don't be surprised
if you happen to see
a pirate, a ghoul,
a groovy hippie.

Tonight's the night
to see and be seen.
Have your treats ready,
it's Halloween!

Be sure to visit Linda at Teacher Dance - she has many Poetry Friday treats to share.
(and none will cause tooth decay!)

  1. HH, Bridget! I picture you as the groovy hippie :). As for me, my fantasy costume would probably be a big pie.

  3. Let me guess, you're the groovy hippie... oh, that's right, you're a poet-tree. :) Have fun tonight, Bridget!

    1. Thanks, Michelle! Being a groovy hippie would be fun because of the tie-dye. Poet-tree is this year's costume du jour. =)

  4. No pirates nor hippies coming to visit us. We haven't had a trick or treater for over 14 years now. Guess we are just too far out. Ha! I just got that. Far out!

  6. To see and be seen -- so right! It's so much fun to see the costumes. We were visited by a couple of particularly young ones last night (still at the being carried stage) and they could really dress up as anything and still make me melt. Too bad Halloween only comes once a year!

    1. I know what you mean, Tabatha! I love the tiny baby trick-or-treaters - so cute! And we know who would be eating their candy later. LOL =)

    1. Yes, Tara, then you could say, "peace" as they pass you on the street. Oh, and happy Halloween! =)

  8. Bridget, your poem is delightful. Our costumed characters were filling the streets with merriment. I hope you consider writing a poem accompanied by a photo for the Finding Fall Gallery (http://beyondliteracylink.blogspot.com/2014/09/falling-into-place-as-season-turns.html).
