  1. There are times some of my classes could have used this poem, Bridget. Terrific!

    1. Thanks, Linda! I think this is what my girls hear when I talk, except when I say, "ice cream" - THEN they hear me. =)

  4. So fun! I think this would be fun to read in middle school, assigning different stanzas to different table groups. It's hard to acknowledge that's what we often sound like to them.

    1. Thanks, Ramona! Yes, I think middle schoolers would be able to relate to this form of communication. =)

  5. I love this! Pretty sure that my college aged sons hear a similar message! And I love the way you have fit the words together. The rhythm and sound are perfect!

  6. This is super fun! I totally had the impression it was grown up talk from the point of view of a waiting kid.

  9. Bridget,
This just made me laugh. Having just sent the youngest teenage daughter off to college, I have many memories of "gibber jabber". I'm discovering, however, as she grows in this experience, she may have been listening more than I realized.

    What fun rhyme and rhythm.

    1. Thanks, Cathy! I'm so glad you got a laugh from my poem. Yes, I hope my daughters hear more than the "gibber jabber" of my jaw. (actually they prove that they do once in while when I least expect it) =)
