Martin's Words

Martin's words were...
big
bold
brave

Martin used his words...
to communicate
to challenge
to change

Martin's words...
altered thinking
adjusted attitudes
amended laws

I appreciate Martin's words...
...and I appreciate Irene Latham at Live Your Poem, our host for Poetry Friday.

  1. Oh, Bridget, are we on the same wavelength, or what?! I loved how in the movie SELMA they showed Martin working on his speech. Obviously words were very important to him. What a gift to the world then and now. xo

  2. A perfect poem for this weekend. I think the first stanza is my favorite. It's so direct and the short lines make them so strong.
